A friend I worked with in Ireland has gone missing while travelling on the Chile/Argentina border, I am posting this in the hope someone in that area will be able to help by raising awareness in the area and throughout the region.

Taken from the website setup to co-ordinate the search:

The latest information we have received from the authorities is as follows. Ronan left the Torres Del Paine National Park (Chile) and crossed the border into Argentina at Puerto Natales on the 20th Nov. He was then planning to travel to Rio Gallegos where he was then to take a bus on 22nd Nov to Ushuaia. Ronan was not on this bus. Therefore the focus is now on all areas within Argentina between Puerto Natales and Rio Gallegos between 20th and 22nd Nov 2007.

Area of focus has now also broadened. It is now necessary to broaden the area of focus to include the Torres del Paine national park and the areas around the park and between the park and the border. We are waiting on further details and will post the information as soon as we receive it. We are now also seeking communication from anyone who was in these areas or nearby from the 18th Nov.

Ronan is 5ft10'', Greenie/Blue eyes, Slim Build, Irish, Chemical Engineer, Age 28, and he is very Sociable and Outgoing. His last movements included travelling through El Calafate and spent three days in Torres del Paine National Park.

Please see www.ronanlawlor.org for more information.

Many thanks,

Ronan's ruck sack has been discovered in a hostel (America del Sur) in El Calafate. He failed to return from his 3 day tour of Torres del Paine (18th to 20th Nov) to collect it. Therefore the search for Ronan has now centered on Torres del Paine National Park and the surrounding areas.

It has now been officially confirmed that Ronan did not cross the border to re-enter Argentina after his visit to Torres del Paine National Park.

Anyone travelling in that direction over the next day or so, please have a look at the website and the details of the search for Ronan, also if you can spare 30mins to put up some posters from this search website located on the right hand side of the website: www.ronanlawlor.org

Many thanks for your help once again..

We have confirmed that Ronan left El Calafate by bus at 6.30 am on the 18th of November. He arrived to the Laguna Amarga entrance of the Torres del Paine park at approx 10.30 - 11.00am.

He was booked to be collected on November 20th from "Pehoe" at 4.30pm to return to El Calafate but was not on that bus.
