Hi everybody! I am planning on spending 12 / 24 months in New Zealand & Australia. I applied / paid for my NZ working visa a month ago. So I am hoping to leave the UK in July/August 2008 stopping off in one/two of the following places on route; Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia (Borneo), Indonesia. Ideally I would like to spend at least 3/4 weeks in Asia. Anybody in NZ in August/September 2008? I will be flying into Auckland. I have registered on this ''work in exchange for accommodation'' website. Basically the majority of the work will be on farms looking after animals, planting trees etc. There are registered farms all over the country. You only have to spend 3/4 hours a day working.
I have been to NZ before but only for a few weeks. I have always wanted to go back. I am planning on doing some hiking/trekking in the mountains.
When my visa expires (June 2009) and if I have enough money I am planning on flying accross the water to Australia and spending 6-12 months there. I may leave NZ before June. I will just play it by ear.

As I am going by myself, it would be cool to meet up with people over there. So if anybody is planning a similar trip or will be in NZ & OZ later on in the year & 2009. Please contact me.

Matt :-)

Hey Matt,

I too am travelling in July this year, but was planning to do the whole asia thing first and then spend 12 months in Oz, finishing off with six months in NZ.

What's the website for NZ work thing you have found?

Am travelling alone, so if we're in the same place at the same time etc etc
