Your budget would depend on how much expensive stuff you plan on doing, how long in each place, how soon you get work in Australia, how long you work for whilst in Australia etc. In South East Asia I was generally able to get by on $20US a day but usually less than that whilst still seeing and doing quite a bit. If you plan on doing anything in New Zealand more like $40-$50US a day, Australia $40-50US a day (when you are in travel mode and not work mode), South America $25-$35US depending on the places you visit, haven't been to the Cook Islands or Fiji but I reckon $30US a day should get you by. As long as you don't go over the top with expensive things in Australia and New Zealand with your work also included your budget should be enough. The more you have obviously the more fun you can have and more stuff you can do so just work towards as much as you possibly can save.

Have a great trip.
