Hi I am currently in the UK and want to purchase annual travel insurance i think. I am mainly after loss of baggage cover as I have had one experience of the airline misplacing one of my bags. I am from australia I have a british passport and was unsure which was a good travel insurance company and cheap. I plan on working in the Uk and just going travelling through europe. Is it better to pay more for the policy and less excess or the other way around and yes i understand some cover for 42 days at a time and others for 60 days too many to chosse from.
If i could have some assistance from experienced travellers that would be fantastic.

I would like to say thanks for the assistance i got earlier helped me out immensly.

Go intp any post office and ask about travel insurance there, reliable and cheap, we use it a lot.

I just discovered the most wonderful thing the other day! In Australia, if we get a gold commonwealth credit card and book and pay for the trip with it you get travel insurance free as long as you have a return ticket!! It better insurance than we were going to get anyway (we were looking at world nomads a backpacker insurance company).

Dont know if this would work for you, but have a look. World Nomad's is still pretty cheap and comprehensive, the have a website, so you can have a look at that too if you want.

Hope this is helpful!

thanksf everyone for your help i discovered atlasdirect insurance. I do have a gold card but never booked a return ticket :( never realised at the time. atlasdirect are good and you have to be in the country for 3 months and be registered with a doctor. cheaper to book online also thanks for your help :)
