Hey we might be isolated but not THAT isolated!

Yes many planes travel through here and it's the best way. I think there should be a route going from Hong Kong -> Sydney, otherwise if you leave from mainland China you may have to stop over at a city like Hong Kong/Singapore/Bangkok etc but the flight isn't too long, maybe 8-10 hours.

The main hub for Australia is Sydney so most flights go through there, they might also go to Melbourne.

The weather is heading towards our Winter so a bit colder than normal, but nothing like what China has experienced lately - we very rarely get any snow unless it's in the mountains.
But in northern Australia it should still be fairly warm during winter.

By plane is easy, there's lots of major carriers on that route, but if you're on a budget check out tiger airways at

Try China Airways , China Eastern or China Southern airlines. I know that they all fly into Melbourne and Sydney. Also Cathay and Qantas fly from Hong Kong and I'm sure they would have connecting flights to other areas in China.

I flew China Eastern over a year ago and it was really good (unless you like to have a proper drink on the plane, they are not very generous that way), but if you are not bothered about alcohol, I would recommend them.

Cheers :)
