Hello Linz_baz:)

I was told by somebody who just came back from a holiday in Kenya that it was OK.
She was on a packaged holiday safari type thing. She said extra security was provided for them in Naoiribi.
There were a lot of cancellations which was good for her because she and her partner had the whole safari lodge to themselves.

U could also contact expats living in Kenya on the following site and ask them what they think.

Hello again Linz_baz :)

I just read a post on another travel site by somebody who just cycled accross Kenya. He said he had no more trouble than the usual trouble he has always had travelling in Kenya in the past. He was however given an armed guard who accomanpied him all the way. Looks like they make some attempt to protect tourists.

I returning to Kenya next week to a charity I help run, although there have been some anxious moments over the past few weeks (more than anxious for the people directly affected) we´ve been given the go ahead by all of the officials we´ve contacted.

However I would still try to avoid the area around Mount Elgon and the North West, where things can still flare up. Overall I don´t think you should cancel your trip, the people need foreign investment now more than ever, but obviously it´s a personal decission and one that you should think hard about and decide for yourself.

I´ll update my findings on my return in a few weeks time.
