I have heard about this too so am fairly sure it is correct. Definitely worth doing. I found out after I had spent loads on bank fees while in Australia!

Well, I can bet there is one person out there who can tell you with 100% certainty the answer to this questions. That person is the teller at the Nationwide Bank. Why don't you go in and ask?

I can confirm that nationwide dont charge u for taking out abroad, i used my card in atm all around eastern europe when i spent a month over there. i'm just about to leave on a rtw trip in 3 weeks and i'm going to do the same thing again, using my nationwide account in atm's in se asia, australia, samoa, and s america. It definately seems to be the most logical way to get money abroad to me.
