malaria

hi travelling for about 3 months through south east asia and not really sure how to go about getting malaria tablets my doctor hasnt been very helpfull either just wondering if anyone could tell me how i go about getting them ? which 1s are best to get ? doi have to take them every day im away ? would be greatful for any information thanks

Which part of Southeast Asia are you going to? Will you be in the jungle and remote areas? If you are not, you probably won't need it.

Visit your pharmacist. They'll be able to provide you with appropriate advice and the pills if required. Some anti-malarials are taken weekly, some taken daily. And depending on the drug you start taking them either at least 2 weeks before your trip, or you start the day before you depart. Some anti-malarials are prescription-only medicines that you need to visit a doctor for. Your pharmacist will be able to provide you with all these information and assess your situation to recommend the best anti-malarial drug for you if you need to take one for wherever you're going.

You can buy doxycycline over the counter at almost any pharmacy, in 50mg tablets or 100mg tablets... Doxy is was what my "nurse" sister recommended for my trip to India.
