Hi I am off on my ATW trip in September (yey) starting off in India and then working all around SE Asia. There are a couple of places that I will want to do guided tours, such as trekking in Nepal and Guided trek etc in Borneo (to climb mt kinabalu, sleep in jungle and see Orang Utan Sanctuary), The only thing is I have no idea exactly when I will be in these places!

Can I book these when I am out there, or would I be able to get my family to book them in the uk for me when I now when I will be able to do them.

I dont want to get ripped off. And want to get the best out of the tours. Will they be cheaper to do out there and available most of the time??

Any suggestions would be grateful.

A lady in my office climbed Kinabalu last year so I'll see if she can give me any useful info to pass on.
Sounds like a great trip:)

I travelled round Borneo on a guided tour (through Intrepid Travel) and it would have been cheaper if I'd booked each individual bit of it when I was Borneo. It would have been a bit more work though, and I quite lazy at stuff like that so booking a guided tour on the internet was just easier and more convenient.

However, I had to book for an exact date, so if you don't know exactly when you're going to arrive then it might be best to either just book each individual activity yourself once you arrive in Borneo, or wait until closer to the time before booking a tour on the internet.
