the moment you stop looking thats when they should come isn't that what they say!!

but for myself, travelling from november this year im looking forward to meeting some nice guys ;)

we will see what happens!

I think lots of people have some sort of little romance when they go on a trip. It's really easy when you're in hostels, or in a youtful atmosphere. I haven't personally met anyone of really amazing calibre (i.e. amazing enough to be called the "one") but I have definitely met some guys while vacationing. So you can definitely meet some girls while away. A coworker and myself often complain of the situation in Montreal (very cliquish) and we believe that the key to finding romance is travel... Don't think it would include permanence but little interactions here and there add some spice to the trip and good memories all around... usually

Think the story came out on here somewhere before, but yes, i did. It was entirely by accident and somewhat surreal, but sh1t happens!

Can't give you any tips as what to do/not do, as it was one of those things which just happened because we were both in the right (which happened to be wrong) place at the right or wrong time depending on your point of view and it just happened

Have met/know more than one other couple who have met that way, including some now married with kids.

Agree that it's more liklely to happen if you aren't lookking for it and just go to travel and enjoy yourself.

But yes, it does happen and there is hope. Good luck to you John (and Monica)

On my very first vacation alone, in Paris, I was walking through Pere Lachaise cemetary looking for Oscar Wilde's grave. And this blue-eyed guy in a blue-striped shirt stopped to ask, in Irish-accented French, if I knew where he could find Oscar Wilde.

That was just about a year ago, and I still can't believe that - in this tiny little frame of time, in that most impossible of places - I could have met that very one for me.

Mind, it was the first time in a long time that I simply wasn't looking for anybody. I guess maybe that's the catch...

Hi guys,

I heard many stories and met heaps of people who met the 'one' while travelling around the world. (swiss guy, met english girl, got married, live in NZ now and have children and so on...)

my favourite story is:

Danish nurse worked for the UN in Nairobi
Canadian guy worked there as well and met the danish nurse- the love of his life
they got married in Italy and now live in the Netherlands...
isn't that crazy???

And my personal story is:
Austrian girl met South African guy in New Zealand, went back home 3 months ago and is gonna be back there in Dec.

all the best, for the ones who r still searching ;)
