Spending 5 weeks travelling around eastern Europe this July - August.. Planning on visiting the following places:
Cesky Krumlov
A few towns around Lake Balaton
Would really appreciate if you have been to any of these places if you could recommend some good hostels.. Or alternatively hostels that we should definately avoid!!

in prague i think i stopped at a place called czech inn it is very modern and nice for the price but its not very social. so i wouldnt really recommend it.

we stayed at A plus hostel in prague and it was great. it wasnt the most social place id ever been but it was low season so it wasnt that busy. the rooms are nice, the bar/restaurant downstairs is cheap and open till 5am on the weekends! its central too... good price, i liked it!!

Hostel Kanonia, Jezuicka 2

Nice, new hostel located in the very heart of Warsaw's old town.

I can also strongly recommend that you visit Cesky Krumlov. Hostel rec for Cesky Krumlov: Hostel 99.

I stayed at Advantage Hostel in Prague. It wasn't horrible, but I'd try something else. Miss Sophie's comes recommended, though I think the crowd might be slightly older.

I also stayed in the Advantage hostel - it was clean and in a good location but lacked atmosphere.

In Krakow I would highly recommend Greg and Tom's hostel -I'd say its among the top 2 or 3 hostels I have ever stayed in. its in convenient location near to the station and old square.
