Travel Forums Round the World Travel advice needed on my travel RTW!

I am leaving from england in november to go travelling. No timescales, a bit of cash, the worlds my lobster.
My aim is to go to lots of cheap countries and stay gone, maybe even teaching english if i settle somewhere with TESOL qualification. priorities are cheap beer and nice people and climate.

my thoughts are to
Central america for couple months
South America for a few months
Asia and india for a few months
I would consider going briefly to Aus and Nz but not if they just eat cash for no great reason

Now air fares are rising and im not sure on how to travel, RTW ticket or not for about £1600
Im reluctant to be restricted to a year unless it works out much cheaper than individual flights, and or theres gonna be huge problems getting into a country with no proof of onward travel.

if i got the RTW i might use it and not see much of asia instead flying back after aus/singapore or something, then come back from uk to india and asia to start again as it were. problem is what if i really like somewhere or really hate it,
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

No timescales

That's what stuck me there. And that's pretty much what you would get with at RTW ticket. I would settle on a place where you can have a little of everything you mentioned. How about a couple months in a place like SEA and live it up a little, during that time you can also be inquiring about teaching work. Then move away to another location in SEA to teach. Its a diverse place with good teaching opportunities. Also a ticket from London to Thailand is around $600USD is memory serves, from there you can overland it.

Unless you speak some Spanish you might have to invest in some Spanish course in C. and S. America to get the most out of it.

i know what you are saying its just that ive seen a lot of asia already and i know what you get there. Its good
thats why i want to give south america a shot even if its just for 2 or 3 months, hopefully i will pick up the lingo as i will be travelling alone.

I still dont know what to do maybe i will just chance it, im gonna have about £15k so should be ok without working for a year or 2 anyway. I would love to know the best ways and costs of flying one way from buenos aires to NZ then how much a flight to manila from there would be, thats my ideal route. I can prob get to mexico for about 300 or 400 so if they arent real expensive i will just book without RTW flight
