I am 27 years old and have been working full time for 11 years. I am getting married in under 6 months and since asking my fiance to marry me in Thailand, we have been longing to go travelling!

We are thinking about having a 6 month travelling honeymoon, but we both have good jobs, and risk loosing them if we go, we are going to approach our companies with idea's to make them keep us, but who know's?!

We can rent our house out and even re-home our cat temporarily!

We want to travel around:

Canada (Calgory-Vancouver)
West coast USA (Seattle-LA)
Peru (macchu pichu) to Sandiago
New Zealand
Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam

Are we mad? Should we do it?

Is it too much for 6 months?

Which places would we benfit most from?

Will it cost us a fortune?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Adam & Julie

I would cut it in half. Personnaly, I would make 2 trips out of your plans:

1 - The Americas
2 - SEA and Oceania

I know the earth looks small, but in reality, NO!

I really feel you could find plenty to do and see in SEA alone.

Hint - The Americas will be VERY EXPENSIVE!

As before, I concur with Daawgon on this. If you are both the type of people who like to immerse yourselves, take your time and understand the culture, you might want to cut your destinations in half. You'll find yourself wishing you had more time to spend in certain countries otherwise. If budget is an issue, you might want to plan to focus more time on South America than North America. SEA will be very inexpensive to travel through.
