For some unknown reason i booked a train ticked to Broken hill. Then noticed that i would have to wait another 3 days before the train turns up again. I like the idea of going somewhere alittle off the tourist trail. Has anyone been to this place ? Anyone have any idea what to do there... Either way im there !

Thanks in advance for your responces

Leon

Hi Leon,

Broken Hill is a ways off the beaten track, I've only driven through. Not sure what there is to do in town, but the sculptures are worth seeing. It's a few km out of town on top of a hill, just don't forget to pick up the key from the visitors centre if you hire a car and go out otherwise you won't be able to get through the locked gate.

Broken Hill is a great town to get an insight to the outback. Nearby Silverton is virtually a ghost town and has a real outback pub there that has been used in many films. In Broken Hill you can do a little 1 or 2 hour bus tour of the place. Also you can go down the mine for a tour. When I was there I visited two great art galleries - Pro Harts and Jack Absalom (not sure of spelling).

Thanks for your replies, I have to admit that it was worth going to but just dont plan to spend to long around that area. It does make a great change from city life. Thanks again broken hill and those who posted here !
