I'm thinking of taking my sister away for a couple of days for her 18th Birthday......I know she loves Paris, so that is an option, but would like to take her somewhere new really. I was thinking about Amsterdam, Copenhagen or Venice, but would welcome any other suggestions. Ideally I would like to be able to get there quite cheaply, and we will probably stay in hostels (although again, any other cheapish suggestions are welcome!).

Does anyone have any experiences of these places, or any other places where they had an amazing time over a couple of days?

Thank you in advance! Holly

Prague is a great city that can be done relatively cheaply and since they'll be changing over to the Euro in January it would be a good place to hit up now There's a lot of stuff to see, but you can do most all of it within 2 or 3 days. Definitely worth a look into!

I did think about Prague......I have been there before and wasn't too taken with it which meant it didn't really appeal to me again, also it would be in December or January so the weather might have an impact on the trip.....although saying that, it might affect Amsterdam as well :
