Hi, Buenos Aires has some of the best nightlife in South America. Worth spending a few days there at least I would say. For finding good nightlife places, clubs, restaurants etc, try this site - Buenos Aires Nightlife Guide it's useful for finding venues from style of music to flavour of food.
Buenos Aires is a long way from anywhere that you'll probably want to visit, as it's surrounded by thousands of miles of Pampas which is basically flatter than flat farming land. Iguazu for example is around a 24 hour bus ride north to the subtropical forests, whereas Mendoza is 24 hours West.
Places I would say worth visiting are:
Iguazu - amazing waterfalls and rainforest
Mendoza - mountainous wine growing region
Salta - dry, mountainous region - probably the most interesting place culturally in Argentina, it has real character.
Bariloche - beautiful mountains and lakes, good for skiing from July to September
Ushaia - glaciers, good from december to march, but rest of the time it's a little too cold i think
Puerto Madryn - to see the whales migrating

Hope this helps

I spent two weeks in Argentina and I have to congratulate you on your choice : ) so beautiful. While in Buenos Aires, you can certainly get around by subway and taxi with no problem. I would recommend always settling a fare before you get in the cab though... I ended up spending a week in Mendoza and took a bus for the 14 hour drive- sounds hellacious but they usually feature delightfully tacky American movies and you get fed en route, so it wasn't so bad if you are up for an adventure
