Hi!
Does anyone know of any good hostels to stay in in New York? Or have any experience of staying in a ( cheapish) appartment for a month? I've heard you can use uni appartments
...if anyones got any advice or knowledge on this, i would def welcome it!
Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly,
I stayed at a place called Morningside Inn, it's on 107th Street, if i remember correctly it was a very good rate for NYC.
The rooms were quite nice too, shared kitchen and lounge (Although i never used them) double bed, fridge in room, nice shower and a closet.
two blocks either way to a subway station, pub 100yards away which was nice, grocery store on the corner, subway sandwich store nearby, starbucks, breakfast cafes etc etc
I was pleased with it.

In 2006 I stayed at Big Apple Hostel, near Times Square. I payed arounnd $95 for private room (shared bath) with TV, safety box. It was little room but clean

I think now it's more than $120 the private room but they have cheap shared dormitories too
