Hello there

Im happily coming from London (Im Scot/Aus) with my fiance(Sth African) and are yey, getting married in early August 09 hopefully at Cape Of Good Hope ? Still have to work that out, as I would love to be on the beach, BUT also with high cliffs...( We are being married on our own ) and do have a few questions...

Does anyone have any recommendations with jewellers esp. wedding rings in Capetown ? ( Have gone online from London and Begeeez, have seen only Xtremly high designer priced jewellers ?? )

Same with good Hairdressers, or non religious celibrants.

Would Love some kind of Info regarding all. Yep, I know Im asking for heaps, but I do find I am finding it hard trying to sort things out, as from here its a bit dismal. Any clues would so much be appreciated ! ( Your Invited if you like !! & It will be Smashing )

Any more info please contact me.

Kindest Regards

GG ( Argghh...)

i know that there are all kinds of wedding planners in the cape town area that can set everything up for you if you like. it shouldn't be too tough to find one by searching on the web. as far as purchasing your wedding bands, if you intend to have any diamonds in the rings themselves, then I would purchase that in the uk or europe. its been my experience that you can buy diamonds cheaper in the US than in ZA and I would imagine it isn't any different in europe. there are several jewelers at the waterfont in CT where you could buy the bands as well. will you be going there at all before you get married? otherwise, if the bands are simple, you could just pop up as soon as you arrive and purchase them there. as for hair stylists, well, half of CT is in Putney, maybe you could ask someone from there! Good Luck!

I recommend Jewel Africa in Cape Town. I had a tanzanite ring made there and saved a fortune. The guy I dealt with (Stephen) was really amazing and chatted with you to get a idea of your personality before making recommendations - needless to say it was perfect. Cost me less than half of its resale price to have the stone mounted on a handmade band in gold.

Contact SANParks for info re getting married inside Cape Point National Park as sometimes they get a bit picky when hoards turn up and hog the beach.

Fantastic hair dressers at Mavericks hair salon in Sea Point, Cape Town. Ask for Paula.

Good luck and have fun!!
Cheers, Tania

Thankyou very much Overlandin and soupatrvlr

Its so great to hear such great information. Its been very much appreciated !

As I will be in Capetown roughly only about 3-5 days beforehand, it has been simply Briliant to have both your info.

I was also curious about non religious celibrants, and photographers ?

As since it will be late August, would they be fully booked ? Could I arrange things within 2-3 weeks before, if I found some ? ( From London) or do photogs/ celibrants need ALOT of time before hand ?

I really dont want to go through a wedding planner, but Im thinking maybe i should ? ?

As I read this, it does sound very vague, so I do apologize....

So lets say its a smallish budget, ( as we after being married, and going to travel around South Africa for approx 3-4 months, then onto Australia seeing my family for approx 1-3 months , then returning to Sth Africa for anywhere between 3-12 months, and then onwards living in Aus)

I guess Im panicking, as Im trying to sort out some kind of budget....

Am also trying to sort out sending my fiance building eqip over, blah blah so hope you can see through my Arghh ! hahaha..

Kindest regards
