Hi there,
My boyfriend and I are setting off on our round the world trip in January and plan to travel first to India, for about 6 weeks.
We're both really excited and are trying to find out as much as possible about the country.
So far we plan to visit, in no particular order, Shimla, Agra, Kerala, Mumbai, Goa, Delhi and Sri Lanka.
Any help would be gratefully received, places to see ect. We are interested in culture, history, wildlife, basically everything, and can't wait to sample the food!! YUMMY
I've read lots of things about safety for women in this forum, although I will be travelling with my boyfriend, is there anything that I should know/be aware of?

Hey, Kristie!!

What a coincidence! I'm also going with my boyfriend to India for 6 weeks!!! We're going in Feb and only to the northern part, though...

I'll tell u my itinerary and maybe u can get some ideas!

We're going to
- Varanasi,
- Kahajuraho (the Kama sutra temples),
- Nepal and Tibet (fly there from India),
- then back to India: Agra (which includes Fatephur Sikri),
- Amristar
- Ladhak (where the Tibetan government is right now) and Srinagar (maybe, we're a little afraid because of the terrorism)
- Jodhpur
- Jaisalmer (desert) and
- Delhi

To save time we'll get a 7-day airpass to visit Amristar, Leh and Srinagar (US$300)

Well, we can exchange information!

I am also arriving in Bombay on January 6. I am travelling alone for the first few days and then will be alone again the 16-24. I would welcome the company of fellow travelers!! If you and your boyfriend or anyone else would like to meet up, please let me know as I am getting a little nervous about being alone there!
