Travel Forums Off Topic HAPPY BIRTHDAY OVERLORD MINI-MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...The sun has set and risen, a couple of times, since the big birthday bash for Peter The Shared Supreme Overlord Of All Things TP and pirates have had to take their share of naps to recover from the revelries of the past two days. Naps have been very important, if not truly necessities, as the pirates actually remember why they really made the trip to the mysterious patch of land somewhere around Melbourne...

All the alarm clocks had been set for a very early morning wake-up call because the crew was quite aware morning for that someone special behind the two very large titanium doors begins at the crack of dawn. Right on cue the two very large titanium doors open with a whoosh-like sound that could deafen another elephant. (Again, big ears not so surprising.) Out into the sunshine comes a wheelbarrow pushed by a smiling Dadmin and filled with a bubbly giggling bundle of blonde hair yelling "Faster, Opa, faster!!!"

As Opa pushes the wheelbarrow faster and faster, the pirate crew breaks into song (albeit with rather hoarse voices)...

Kookaburra sits in an old gum tree
merry merry king of the bush is he
laugh Kookaburra laugh Kookaburra
gay your life must be

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Eating all the gumdrops he can see
Stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra
Leave some gums for me

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Counting all the monkeys he can see
Stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra
That's no monkey, that's ME!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's hoping you have a wonderful day (Jan. 26th) with all of your family and friends (who are in country, that is) and filled with lots of cake and pressies and trips to the beach. (Be sure to tell Dad that he's been sorely remiss by not making you a TP member yet.) ;)

...While the crew continues to sing all of the children's songs they can think of, which is a limited number so there tends to be several repeat performances, they prepare for a birthday picnic that can't be beat. Wheelbarrows of stuffed animals fill the Dungeon of the Doomed forest, and all being pushed by assorted Disney characters flown in on the Isa Martini Blimp just for this occasion. Captain Isa made a few calls to some special friends...

......and in a flash of not-quite-so-blinding-green-light-for-a-child-of-so-few-years, accompanied by a chorus of singing wallabies and dancing kangaroos, comes Admiral Beerman, fresh from a nice nap..........

Hallloooooo, Master Mini-Overlord from Under Down, it is I, Beerman, here to make Happy at you on this, your Most Happy of Happy Days....YAY!!!!!!!! You are perhaps making notice that Beerman is not wearing his traditional green speedo and massive chestwig, yes? No? Is ok, I am knowing that you are make notice of other things around the Daams Dungeon of Joy and Happy, like funny pictures on wall, and Momma, and picture box on table showing reruns of Sesame Street. Is not often you are see large man-person wearing homemade Snow White ok, Beerman is not used to wearing large dress either.....the preference is for more of a mini-skirt with little ruffles.

So for you Master Miles, Beerman has two simple poems for your listening enjoyments.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

And for all your dreams to make come true....

When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you

If your heart is in your dreams, no request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star as dreamers do

Fate is kind, she brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true

And so for you sweet boy, dream a little dream, and be happy you are not looking like your Uncle Sam.

....and in a moment, Admiral Beerman is gone, as martini hour has begun on Isa manor Martini Blimp of Joy and Happy, and is no place for innocent young minds to be....later, after another 16 years or so, but not now.......

Happy birthday Miles!! Did you get the pressies we sent you? :) You must be really popular; I hear all of Australia got off work today!

Hey, thanks everyone.. on behalf of young Miles that is :) Yes, pressies from Norway were indeed received and were the first thing opened in fact! He kept on pointing at them since they arrived a few days ago, so was rather keen to lay his hands on them. Sam, I got the whole thing on tape ;) I'll send you a copy.

All of Australia took the day off as is customary on Miles' birthday, so there was a festive spirit in the air. The weather was a fairly perfect 28 °C or so. The sky a clear blue (which should not necessarily be considered a good thing since we haven't had any rain in a month).

Party went well, all immediate family, about 67,234 in total. Well, it felt like that, but was closer to 20 - lots of cousins. BBQ, Paella, skittles, cupcakes, "sponge" cake (ok, not so spongy, but it was my first time ok!) were on the menu. Miles had a fabulous time. So happy with the Happy Birthday song, that everyone decided to sing it a second time for him. I wish I had that on video, but oh well, they will just have to be good memories.

Thanks again for the thread. I'm sure one day Miles will read these old archived threads very fondly Maybe we can read them to him before going to bed

Speaking of weather, we're now looking forward to 6 days of over 38 °C with four days in a row over 40 °C. Ouch! If it comes true, it will be the hottest heat wave since 1908.
