I am travelling for the first time with my wife and teenaged daughter to Europe.
I would appreciate advises on accomodation,travel,sightseeing,etc.
We plan to visit UK,France,Switzerland and Italy.

You really need to do a thread for each country you plan to visit. Give some details: When you will be visiting, what towns you want to visit, what kind of accommodation you want, what you want to do and see in those countries, budget, etc. Some sites to start you off:

Tourist season is all year in those countries but VERY BUSY in June to early September. You need to book well in advance. Outside those months, weather can be bad.

I would chose Czech Republic and Belgium for a visit!
Prague is just amazing - it is an utmost beautiful city, though I guess it looks kind of sad in the winter as it is a bit cold and gray.
But then Brugge and Ghent are top destinations if you chose to go to Belgium! I bet you will love the world famous Belgium Beer, Waffles and Chocolate
