Howdy everyone,

I'm sure this question has been asked 100's of times.

But im looking for advice and recommendations on NY accommodation.
I'd like to come over just before xmas to see the city with the xmas hussle and bussle.
So the dates i have pencilled in are 17th-23rd December.
Got a decent flight price now need to think about accom.
I want something thats nice (I've stayed in NY 3 times and each place has been okay, done its job etc but never been nice) but at the same time i dont wanna spend alot because i wont be in the room alot.
I guess something with its own toliet and shower, a tv, nice comfy bed, safe area and easy access to subways into Manhatten (Not travelling too far)

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

What 'type' of accommodation are you after Hostel, Hotel etc?

If your budget only allows you to stay in a Hostel, check out Jazz on the City on 96th Street. Its in upper west area and about 5 mins walk to Central Park and Subway stations etc.

check out some hostel sites to see if there are any decent ones around. or couch surf maybe.

The city is ridiculous that time of the year. It's nice though.

don't forget to take the megabus down to philly for a day!

I'd be looking at staying in a hotel.

I am actually debating either end of May or December as my two times.

As i say i dont want anything uber fancy or expensive, but at the same time nice, relaxing, tv in room, own shower, somewhere i can come back to after a long day and relax as i'll be on my own.
