im thinking of heading to new zealand at the start of next year. id really like some advice on working there. I have office/admin experience aswell as waitress/bar experience. i most likely will be traveling alone and will be relying on work to keep me going. Wheres the best place to start? whats the best industry to work in? what will the weather be like?. Ive been to oz on a working holiday visa and loved really like to go back but i wouldnt have the work visa as ive used it up..does anyone know of work in australia that doesnt require a visa????

Hi there,

the best to start will be a big city for u (like Auckland, wellington, maybe Taupo- there r more jobs), but u can be lucky and get a job somehwere else as well.
Most travellers do jobs like: fruit picking, working in supermarkets, bars, helping on farms, helping in the hostels etc.

You definitely will need a holiday working visa, otherwise it's gonna be hard to find a job there.
Don't know ur nationality, bec not everybody can get a (I couldn't get one, bec I'm austrian)

When will u go there? Next year, does that mean Jan? In jan. it will be summer there, hope u will be luckier than I was, bec I had a very rainy summer...very unusual, that's what everybody told me.

Hope I could help u a bit ;)

Hi there,

Hospitaly industry always offers a wide range of work in a highly tourist place like NZ. Most of travellers do orchard and farm work too. But if you've got office experience and a valid WHV start your job searching at an agency.

Take care and have fun there Down Under.
