India is a safe place to travel absolutely. The terror attack is quite similar to an accident that took place.
It can happen to any one any where. You cannot stop living.

Yes you have to play safe and the Government of India along with its elite defence forces and every citizen of India ensures we live in a secure society, unless attacked by a foriegn element like it happened.

So plan out your trip and come along!!

Hi,

I think its safe to come to India. Especially with the national election round the corner the country should be seeing the tightest security. Also, for a traveler there is not much worry. Other than in Kashmir there is not much history of terror attacks at Tourist Destinations. I live in Mumbai where 26 11 terror attack happened. I still think Mumbai is much safer.

India is safe but that doesnt mean you should take everything
for granted.
Stay in decent hotels and avoid strangers who will offer to
help. There are good guys but one cant distinguish
the good from the bad.
Respect local sensibilityand culture...kissing in public
attracts unnecessary attention and problems.Dress
appropriately and plan everything in advance..

Dis you hear of anything violent after the Mumbai incident?
I didnt. India is a big country almost as big as Europe.

If you come to think of it, no country can claim 100% protection against terrorism. India, of course, has been on the receiving end more often than other countries. :(
However, I believe that it is still one of the safer destinations to travel to. It is threatened more by the politicians than the terrorists. ;)
