I've tested two times this one, wich I could suggest to you because of the wondeful position (very close to Vatican Museum, walking distance from Vatian City and Tevere River, good neighbour) and the huge, flowerful, furnished terrazza form where you can see all Rome at your feet.
It's a Studio good for 1 or 2 people, large, with good, clean bathroom, and the breakfast is very good.

Hi Aiofe, you could try the Hotel Castelfidardo which is no more than 10 minutes walk away from the Termini station. It's not exactly "luxurious" but it's got everything you'd except from a basic hotel and it's clean and quiet at night which is always important. The staff were always helpful and efficient and there's a supermarket nearby for food.
In my opinion much better value than some of the hostels in the centre, a few of which are truly awful!
Hi
I go to Rome every year (sometimes twice a year) and always always stay at the Arena House Rome guesthouse. It's down a little side street from the Collisseum in a very quiet area (but with some really nice cheap restaurants nearby) and is run by the most friendliest people you are likely to meet - Vincenzo and Barbara. Rooms are basic (but do have free internet access) but safe and clean - have a look on www.arenahouse.com
Just don't tell everyone!!

Someone here suggested Cross-Pollinate to me a few years ago, and we found 2 great places through there. Might help!
I stayed at Hostel Rome des Artistes and loved it (http://www.hostelrome.com). Very convenient location (just a few blocks from Termini), friendly staff, clean, and affordable.
has anyone stayed at the bee hive?
