I'm going to Thailand by mid of Nov. and would like to get some advise.

1) Has anyone of you book an accommodation from this web. I never tried before booking from internet as most of them required deposit and you need to display your credit card no.
I just worried if turn-out there is no booking but we have made the deposit payment from this internet.

2) Booking in advance for a room in the internet and walking-in to the hotel directly. Which price/rate is cheaper?

3) Could you recommend cheap guesthouse in Patong, Phuket with attached bathroom.

Thank you.

Hi. I work for a web site who book the room as well. It's on prepayment basis and it's surely better rate and guarateed there is your name listed in their record. You can call to check with the hotel after you had received a confirmation e-mail whether there is your name list in the hotel's record or not.

Walk in rate is usually higher than booking in advance at least 20%.

I've just got a new contract with some hotels in Phuket. I could offer you a special price. Which hotel are you interested in? Patong Merlin? Tell me your budget or e-mail me at chorpet at I will try to find accommodation that suite your budget most.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Aiza,

I've booked through our website many times and never had a problem. The hotels are legally bound to fulfill the contract with you. It's as much protection as you can get booking in advance.

As far as which is cheaper, it does depend on circumstances. Not all hotels are cheaper on the internet, but a lot can be. If you look in the 'last minute' section of our accommodation area, there are some very good deals in there. I've booked using the system quite a few times now and been very happy with my savings (up to 40%). It has meant staying in 4 star places rather than 2/3 star places on several occassions.

hi chorpet, Peter,

Thank you for advise. I feel more confident now to use internet booking as I've never done that before.

By the way, I'll change my destination to Krabi instead of Phuket before going to Bangkok after reading some advises from this forum. Could you recommed best location/ cheap guesthouse for 3 nites. I been to Phuket before and don't feel like going there now.

Thank you.

November in Krabi no real need to book for a cheap backpacker's place - most of the cheapest don't take reservations anyway. Wait till you get on the ground, talk to other travellers and find out what they think - that is one of the best ways to find the best spots.
