Thanks
Is is true u can take a ferry from Buenos Aires 2 Montevideo
Thanks
yes there is ferry transportation between Buenos Aires and Uruguay.to Montevideo and Colonia de Sacramento.
The companys name is Buquebus, there is a slow and fast ferry.
there are several posts about the ferry and the prices here at the south america forum.
dont quote me on this but the ferries to and from montevideo no longer exists since one of the ferries destroyed the docks (a few years ago) but it goes to and from colonia. Buquebus has a website. There are about 10 or more ferries day, some cheaper than others, but it takes an hour on the fast one.
the ferrys (Buqebus)are running between BA and Montevideo,I know for sure!
Prices seem to be from $170. Have you been on the ferries? How much did you pay, when is cheapest, morning or afternoon, direct?
dont getconfused with the $ sign,it means in Argentina Pesos, otherwise it will say US $
Got last week for 1 US$ 3.60Arg.Pesos,before it was between 3.20/340
so if you see $ 170 it would be ca US50/55
the fast ferry could be more expensiv.
dont know if it is cheaper in the afternoon or morning.
Ah thanks so how did it compare, in terms of scenary, sea sickness, bus sickness, bus length, bus cost, safety?
Thanks
well people have pretty much covered everything, but the least advice i could give to you is to stay in BA. Montevideo is a nice city and punta del este is beautiful as well. However, there are only people in punta del este during prime season (decemeber - feb).
only thing to do in colonia is go cart racing I suggest staing in BA a little longer
Cheers
