Hi there everyone.

I'm new here.

I'm looking to take some time out in the Summer from my life...

Struggling actress, struggling to pay bills and be at peace with the stress that is living in London, and just moved out from the flat I shared with the (now ex) boyfriend (!), so I'm going to do something totally different with my life and spend a few months in South America.

I'm going away in August and the plan is to take 2 months out, but the more research I do it looks like I may stay longer as there is so much to see and do!

I look forward to getting to know some people here!

Hi Charlotte

Sounds like a good plan! I'm sure you will find TP useful.

Hope to see you around the forums.

Hi Charlotte,

Thats an excellent plan. One of my friends did that but it took him around 5 months to get to the main places, Brazil Chile etc. So if you can afford to go longer i would suggest that. Although the longer you go the more expensive it becomes. Let us all know how you get on

Do you know the cost of it all roughly? Im just curious because im getting made redundant soon and not to sure what to do with the money at all.

Hey Charlotte, welcome to Travellerspoint.

Sounds like a great plan if you ask me. Those 2 months will just fly by mind you. But even if you can't stay longer, the memories will stick with you for a lot longer than 2 months - and that's one of the beauties of a great adventure like that

Thanks all for your advice.

Went to see an advisor yesterday and have just booked flights and a tour.

Now going for 3 months - flying into Rio, doing a 45 day tour which takes me to Lima and then I have a month and a half to to get to Quito for my return flight home.

Any suggestions on that part of the country would be greatfully recieved!?

I'd like to do some volunteering and see some jungle as that's not included in the tour.
