Hello Jordan:
The Inca trail is closed on february, the whole month due to the heavy rain. The best time to do it is April, May and October. From June to September is hard to book it because is peak season and it are only 500 spots including porters and guides, so only 200 tourists per day can do it.

If you are gonna do it on the high season, I suggest to book it with 3 months in advance to avoid problems.

Best regards,

It' really a great experience if you are lucky and have good weather will be unforgettable you'll toch the the stars in the night and when you'll arrive there it's a really a great impact.

You'll have fun and con't forget to go up to the other mountain back to machu pichu you can start the tripfrom the ruins it takes 2 hours more but you'll see it from upper place!

Just done the inca trail got back to Cusco on Sunday. It is absolutely brilliant. Definately do it with a company called united mice. They are excellent. They pay slightly more tax to the goverment which means you start ahead of most of the groups and in your campsites for the first two nights there are hardly any groups. We only had to other groups each night and they were not near us. My guide told me October and November are the best time to go as not huge crowds and still good weather. He also said May was amazing but very very crowded. His name is Eric i highly recommend him and the company united mice. Have fun.
