Hi, can someone think of any ideas or suggestions for me, who is interested in living in Brazil for about a year?

I could study, but since I don't know Portuguese I could probably only study in the English department at a university.
Or I could study Portuguese, but that'd be quite an expensive endeavour.
I could volunteer.
I could teach English.

These are some of my ideas but I need more concrete answers and concrete organizations or companies...any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi there.
My name is Flavio and I am a professor at the Federal University in Rio Branco, state of Acre.
Rio Branco is located at the western amazon, near the Brazilian borders to Peru and Bolivia.
We definitely need vounteers here, specially people who could teach English. I manage some extension projects at the university and we would love to have you helping us.
Do you have skype? My skype name is aguillart, and I will be connected next saturday most of the day. If you could contact me, it would be great to talk longer about that possibility.
Best regards,
Flavio
