Probably won't be bring 4 with me but still would like to read up on anything popular even after I get back

For Vietnam check out 'Catfish and Mandala' - a great read by Andrew X Pham.
For Cambodia I would recommend 'First they killed my father' by Loung Ung.
I'd agree with the suggestion about Bangkok 8 for Thailand as it was a really good read.

The book is much better though 
i read "If i die in a combat zone" by Tim O'Brien in Vietnam and quite liked it, its a small book so if you want a shorter reading on the war then maybe you can check it out...

I agree with itenerant. The Beach is a brilliant novel, a page-turner for me. The movie wasn't anything to shout about.
Ok ok I'll check it out after I get back Trying to keep it to be just 1 book per country though more than likely I may just get a chance to go through two. Appreciate the suggestions!
