Hi everybody,
Although the competition was officially announced in the travelguide already, I thought I might point out that there is a new Wiki competition about festivals this month. I think it might be included in the August TP newsletter, but haven't seen that one either, or is that me?
So far, contributions have been low (herr bert made the first one today) so let's hope you will enjoy contributing a lot more until august 30!
Cheers and have fun!
Michael

Hmm strange, spam filter maybe? As far as I know the newsletter went out without a glitch. But hey, people who don't get it also don't usually realise they missed it!

I get 2 copies, Michael. Would you like one of mine?
We were just at a small town festival over the weekend celebrating the wonders of sweet corn. Okay, there's a large Del Monte canning factory there (guess what they process) but there's free sweet corn and a parade. Out brother-in-law's mom lives right on the parade route so we get front row seats too

I just noticed this! ...and now have a silly question- I edited a few bits yesterday, and at least one of them was a section on events& festivals (in Zambia)- I'm sure I edited a few other festivals- sections as well, but is there a way of checking how many characters each entry was? (If that makes sense!)

Yes there is. If you go to the article you contributed to, and press the 'history' button on the top right, you will see...well..the history
There you will also see your username and the number of characters you contributed.
Add them all up and you can join when it's 2,500 at least. If you have 5,000, you can join twice etc. up to three times

Yay, thanks Michael! I'm terrible with computers, but even managed to put my name on the list AND link my articles in it correctly- my hands can finally stop sweating- I was convinced I was going to erase the whole article or similar

You are welcome! Well, up until now you managed to do just fine with adding lots of good stuff in the travelguide. We can use some good contributors these days

There is a revert button, so don't worry too much about it.
