Travel Forums Europe wizz air - good or bad

Hey,
I have previously posted on a majority of forums asking about low cost european airlines and so far have just received a mountain of emails about people arguing about RyanAir, so i have decided to get straight to the point!

Are Wizz air an airline to be trusted, i have read some pretty horrible stories and am a bit sceptical on booking flights.

The flight:

Barcelona to Prague
19/12/09 - 22/12/09
£45 Return (only needing cabin carry on bag)

Thanks:)

Wizzair are very good and very cheap. Yes they can be trusted 100%. I travel with them a lot both across Europe and within the same country. Reliable and good timekeepers.

Whizz Air are very good and very cheap, you will need to know that the flights are as basic as they can get and the majority of the time there are transfers involved as they dont have an extensive amount of routes.

Wizzair have the most extensive choice across Eastern Europe among all the European budget airlines. They have about 60 destinations throughout Eastern and Western Europe with excellent options internally within the continent. As mugshot states they are as basic as it can possibly get but for the prices they charge there isnt another airline that comes close when it comparing their choice of routes. They are so handy when you want to go from one place to another and you arent in your home country. For instance Bucharest to Catania, Sicily or Prague to Venice, both direct and non-stop for back pocket petty cash.
Certainly no frills whatsoever, a bit like Ryanair, but also a snip of the price that other airlines charge.

I flown with Wizzair more than 20 times. Maybe once or twice had 1-2h delay. Generally its very good, reliable airline! I strongly recommend! The aircraft are new, the crew is nice and helpful, the prices are low. What else to expect from airline? :)

In my opinion, WizzAir alongside RyanAir are the real Low cost airlines. I fly with wizzair 1-2 times each month (for over 20 flights now) and never had problems with them, beside 1-2 max 3h delay... but this happened just 2-3 times and as I fly so much I am now immune to delays. I think this could happen also for a normal airline. As for WizzAir, flying cheaper than the cost of a train ticket... I think it's enough said.

Totally agree with you about Wizzair. A completely no-frills airline (although they don't do on-line booking so there's a lot of queueing for check-in), but that's reflected in the cost. As people here say plane - v - train, Wizzair wins hands down as long as the flight is booked well in advance. I've flown from London (LUT) to Varna this year with them for under €60 return including tax and booking fees etc.
An internal flight from Varna to Sofia is just around €12 one way, flight time around 50 minutes, the train takes forever (11 hours) and costs around 3 times more.

I agree with the rest of the people in this thread, except that the aircraft have a very narrow cabin and no room for your legs. Less leg space than for instance ryan air, i think. I also have bad experience with the food. Except that it's excellent.

I had to use WizzAir in my last job for booking travel for employees, they were very good, very cheap and reliable. When one of the flights got canceled we had no problems getting a refund as well as money for the added costs due to the cancellation. The call center staff all sounded eastern european but they were very helpful and spoke great english.
