Sorry, it's a myth. Elephants have 2 knees. Their front leg joints are similar to our elbows. (Watch how they lie down - the front legs bend back rather than forward. Their "wrists" work similarly to ours giving the illusion that they have 4 knees.)

I can never remember this one and every time I see a statue of a guy on a horse it really annoys me. So, here it is again....
If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
