From England to Scotland, Hiking, for two weeks, budget...
Found a site for you regarding bothies in Scotland...
www.mountainbothies.org.uk
There is a map showing all the bothies in Scotland plus rules on etiquitte etc.
you can do the WHW for nigh on nothing. I know as I have done it.
£10 a night for camping will be more than enough. There is also a hostel on the route.
Other than that and the expense for food I can't really see where 200-300 comes from unless you want to go drinking (which I did).
The route is free but you can (should) make a donation towards the upkeep of the paths.
There are companies that will deliver your back pack/camping gear each day for you. I am sure you can google the names. For £30 they will pick your bag up day 1 in the morning and when you get to your destination it will be there. Same goes for day 2, 3, 4 .... how many ever days you want to take. You just fill in the form.
Eigg is a beautiful island as per previous comments. My mate has stayed there for 10 years or so and I visit when I can.
