I am looking to go on a volunteering holiday, probably towards the far east, to do something with wildlife and conservation, maybe 2 weeks helping the orangutans of Borneo. That sort of thing.

I have come across the website 'i-to-i' which has some possible trips that look pretty good. Anyone used/heard of it?

Has anyone done a volunteer holiday? Or been to Borneo to orangutan reserves?

All information greatly appreciated.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

i-to-i is a massive organization, so one thing I'd consider is if you think they can ensure quality at all their projects and that the people you talk to when you call there actually know those programs inside-out (ie. have visited themselves). You're typically paying a solid price to participate, which I think is fine as long as you get the service and quality you can expect for that price.

One other thing, all those footer links to your website are being deleted. Might save you some trouble adding them in!

Cheers Sam.

I think a little more investigation needs to be done on my part. Also looked at volunteer hols where you teach english and football, which could be good. I don't want to pay over the odds and have been advised by others to look at non-profit organisations, as they are understandably cheaper.

Thanks for the heads-up on the signature too, I wasn't sure whether you could or couldn't post links, all forums are slightly different; you can, you need to post 10 posts then you can, you can't.

But cheers!
