Hi there, im new to this board. Im starting my round the world travels in March and my first stop is in Bangkok where I will be doing a 30 tour round Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. After this I will be travelling down to the islands such as Koh Tao etc.

My question is- Which currency should I bring more off- thai baht or US dollars. I here that both is widely accepted but with the different rates I want to get the most out of my money.

Thanks for any help you give

Bring USD or USD travel checks. Exchange your USD for Thai baht at the airport. You will use Thai baht while in Thailand. Cambodia uses USD for larger purchases but change at least $20 into Riel for smaller items. Motos, tuk-tuks, food, beggars, etc. You can use USD in VN for most items, but have VN Dong for smaller purchases. Same with Laos, USD for most things, Kip for smaller items. I think you will get better exchange rate with USD over baht in VN. Cambodia & Laos will change baht into local, no advantage over USD IMO. Good luck with your planning.
