Because another year is almost a wrap, I can't help but feel a tad nostalgic and think of what a good year this has been. A lot of good things have happened this year (I get the nice feeling I am finally settled here with a good bunch of friends, we got a dog, I finally learnt to dive! etc) but one of the best moments must have been putting together two shoeboxes filled with goodies for a girl and a boy in a war torn country through Operation Christmas Child.

What did it for you this year?

Well considering 2009 was a year of blitzing work & saving as much $$$ as possible for my next big voyage, i still managed to have an absolute blast and even get out the country and touch on new soils.

The hightlight of the year was without a doubt my Saharan Desert Trek, spending 3 days & 2 nights with a berber camp, witnessing the most amazing sunrise's amidst some truely unique aurroundings ... epic!

bring on 2010!

The highlight of my year was my christmas music group on my ward, at least 15 patients attended and everyone had a great time, the culmination of continuing efforts on my part to provide some diversion for them!

...worst thing, still not having heard from med school. DAmn them!

Visiting the island that had been in my mind for 20 years: Pitcairn

This year has had a few more "downs" than "ups" but ain't that the way sometimes.

The top of the list for the "best thing I have done...
Being part of the Travellerspoint Foundation Project. The Overlords offered me a wonderful opportunity in February - helping to create and oversee several aspects of the Foundation's workings. It's been an awesome experience with new challenges around every bend. I have gained knowledge, been dealing with organizations I had never heard about before, work with a great team of TP volunteers and fully appreciate the trust Sam, Peter and Eric have in me. I look forward to 2010 with what it may bring to help the Foundation grow and prosper!

Thank you everyone for supporting TPF this past year!!!!!!!!! ;)

lost 20 1bs. and started getting back into shape, reconnected with old friends, met some of the TP crew , discovered the caribbean from the ocean side of things while sailing in the bvi's, and now i'm dreaming up new adventures for the next decade. bring it on!

SuperBrat - Thanks for the info on Op Christmas Child - I'll check it out.

Utrecht - I too want to see Pitcairn - how the hell does one get there?

As for myself, the highlights of 2009 would have to be the wonderful experiences and people I met on my 2 trips to Vietnam this year, but the most rewarding of all was when I returned from the last trip to find my Jack Russell Terrier jumping for joy at my return!

Happy New Year to all on Travellerspoint
