Hello people,

Im thinking of taking the train from Istanbul up into Bulgaria and then making it up to Croatia, roughly passing through Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia, and then Albania and Greece on the way back, in about 6 weeks.

Can anyone advise on what would be a rough cost per day for Eastern Europe, roughly?

Appreciate all help i can get :)

Thanks!

I think that 50 EUR per day and person would be a safe bet. The further you get north and west the closer you get to the Western European 65 EUR per day. Watch out for high season in Croatia at the coast, there you'll pay Western European prices.

Greece is expensive btw, for budget purposes it is considered Western Europe.

I suggest a budget of around 2300 to 2700 EUR for the whole six weeks, depending upon the time you go.

Thanks t_maia, maybe i will have to look at combining a bit of Iran or Egypt with Eastern Europe then, seeing that staying 6 weeks there would be stretching the budget a little bit...

Anyone going to give me a more optimistic figure? ;)
