Is it cheaper to buy prescription glasses in Thailand than here in the u.k. and do I have to take my prescription with me or get an eye test there?
Also, has anyone gone on the 2 day tour from pattaya to the river kwai and the allied cemetary? I have been to Thailand 3 times now and think it is time to pay this place a visit, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Stokesy

I'd say that it is cheaper in Thailand. Although the price difference is not actually that big. So I guess its ok to buy on either country. You don't need to bring your prescriptions as most glass stores has a doctor that will check your eyes out and measure on what kinds of glasses you will need.
Bring your scrip if you have one!

You can get your glasses usually there and then, for about 2000 to 5000 baht, depending on frames. obviously you can pay more for flashy frames etc. and "special" lenses may be a next day job.

You could also get your own frames from the street which are good stuff too and go and make the lense from the shops in Bangkok.
