Just come back from Tokyo on Tuesday ( I got cold & fever there>__<;)
I had a completely disappointed trip because of the wrong travel partner...
I went there with my friend who is a girl too and she add in 2 boys after my ticket issued...In case I do not think it is a big deal.

I am sad; because my friend leave me alone.
No matter in Disneyland and hotel room (we went there 5 days 4 nights but she only sleep with me 2 nights! I sleep alone 2 nights and it is really make me feel hurt)
She went to the boys room sleep and keep staying with one of the boy…
Nothing I can do because I have not planned anything before going Japan.
I never image my “friend” will treat me like this.

I am really really sad….

I think I selected the wrong one to go travel with me…

How do you select your travel partner or you will travel alone?
If you facing the case like me, what will you do?
( just want to know if the same case happen again, what should I do…)

PS: I think Japanese is really helpful and nice, even though they do not really understand English, they will try to help! I have a good impression of Japan but I am really sad in there, I will be back

How do I select a travel buddy, well, I would choose someone who has similar trip expectations. If you like art galleries and an early start it doesn't make sense choosing someone who likes clubbing. You need to find out how each other would react if you meet guys are they going to go off and leave you or are you going to stay together. As for bed arrangements that is entirely up to the individual but I wouldn't invite guys back to your room its not fair on your room mate.

I hope this helps.

similar expectations, a person you know well and trust, independent enough to do things by himself/herself

Normally I travel with my girlfriend which is great but she's not so keen on long hikes or scrambles, and doesn't like snowboarding, so if I'm going trudging round mountains I usually round up a good mate who likes doing those things.

Thats a shame that you did not enjoy your trip. Perhaps meet with the people before you go? Or see what the other person's expectations are before you set off...
You can also look at Vida Loca Travel which allows you to meet with like-minded travellers before you go on the trip.
I hope this helps you.
