Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Work while travelling?

Have you worked while you travelled in South America? I would like to do it. First I was thinking to do an internship, but I don't want to pay a lot of money for working for free (I could work for free if it was free, or at least cheap, so I could improve my CV, but I'm pretty broke). But maybe I could find a job at hostels, bars etc... ? I speak spanish fluently. Do you have any experience you would like to share?

Are you pretty and young? GREAT! Then go to any gringo bar and apply. I know tons of places where pretty young women work under the table. In Santiago try the only actual American style bar in the whole city...I mean the WHOLE city...>The California Cantina.

And there is always teaching English.

If you are, however, an average looking dude, young or no. Your options are limited to the English teaching, for the most part.

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't dye my blonde hair then ;-) But seriously, work in a gringo bar? No thanks! I'm even gonna try to avoid those places as a client.

About teaching in english, would anyone employ someone who doesnt have teaching experience? (English is not my native language)
