Hi everyione,
may be you could help.
We are planing to go to Goa and from there to make a few-days trip to Hampi.
From there we would like to go to Badami/Aihole/Pattadakal for another one or two days.
I cannot book a train FROM Hampi, as I do not know exactly on which days we are going to be travelling TO Hampi (waiting for confirmaon for train tickets). And, anyway, the train does not go all the way till Badami.
So I was thinking taxi. (Hampi- Badami, and then probably Badami - Goa back). Is this a realistic idea? I understand it will cost us, but hopefully not tooo much (any idea, how much)? And will the taxi go there?
I am not very eager to use buses.
I will be very grateful for any advice!

The distance between Badami and Goa is 190 kms while between Badami and Hampi is 175 kms.
About 3 and half hours of journey by car.
Ofcourse you will get taxis but they are economic only for a return journey. Often they ask for return
fare even if you are not returning on the same day.
The journey will cost about 6 to 8 rs ,per km , depending on the make of the car.

Thank you for the datailed information! This is very useful! Now I see this is doable and I do not have to worry a lot about the train back!
