I noticed this thread is quite old but wanted to comment on it anyway, I like to watch movies and debate about them
I have mostly watched series recently but I think last movie I watched was Lord of the Rings - Two towers. It's a peculiar feeling to watch a movie you have watched last when you were in junior high. I liked it still but it was odd.
I anticipate for this new Disney movie, Aladdin to come on the cinema. I loved the animated Aladdin when I was kid, so I can't wait to see this new version!

Tom Hanks is a great actor, winning Oscars for talking to a volley ball

I didn't even know he won an Oscar for that.

More of a documentary, but no matter - Hollywood couldn't make up a better story than this:

Searching for Sugarman.

The most influential musician you've never heard of, unless you grew up in South Africa. An American blues/folk musician from the early 70's who's outsold the Beatles AND Elvis there yet remains almost unheard of outside South Africa. An amazing story of the rise, fall and rebirth of "Rodriguez"

Netflix it now.

I watched movies in HS (I had a boyfriend who took me to original run art movies downtown like "The Lavender Hill Mob") and college (like the original "All the King's Men" and "The Blob"). And occasionally after I was married - this was before you could see movies on TV and before netflix etc. My husband and I went to a drive-in to see "Dr. No", and I remember going to "From Russia with Love" with my mother. When I was teaching middle school, we sometimes showed movies like "The Black Stallion" and "The Chronicles of Narnia". I tried not to watch. After I stopped teaching, I was sent to a conference and had to room with another co-worker and she wanted to watch a movie and it was the "Crododile Dundee II". Then one of my granddaughters insisted that I watch "Shrek" with her - she was about 5 then, and she's 19 now. And I think I watched the "Ice Age" when I was on a cruise - my husband put it on the TV and again, I tried not to watch so I don't know if you can count that. I have also watched some X rated movies - one my son rented, and I think we bought some. But I'm not a real big movie watcher. I don't like a lot of suspense or violence. If I've seen a movie already and it comes on TV, I might watch it again, but these would be the real old movies like "It Happened One Night".

I just asked my husband what was the last movie we saw and he said "It's been so long I don't remember"

Two movies I watched last week that I really enjoyed. I've seen both before, but they were just as good the second time around

1. The Darjeeling Limited
A classic road trip style movie, with a good dose of humour and great Indian scenery.

2. Safety Not Guaranteed
A magazine writer finds an ad in a newspaper from a time traveller looking for a companion. They decide to follow up on the ad for a story. It's a romantic comedy at its heart with a dose of sci fi thrown in for good measure.

Actually, one more that I watched not long ago that many might not know is Sweet Country - it's an Australian western. An aboriginal man shoots a white man and takes off into the bush to get away. This one's definitely not a comedy. It moves fairly slowly, but it's really compelling viewing.

I found myself watching Moana the other day and I have to say Disney movies have come a really long way. So much more substance to the story compared to the ones I grew up with:).

My husband and I love to go to the cinema and are members of an independent cinema in London.

The best films I've seen recently include Free Solo, Stan & Ollie, Shoplifters (great Japanese movie), The Wife, Lucky, RBG and The Old Man & The Gun
