i like pretty much everything... it depends on my mood. i like the cheezy ballads. i like fast bass beats... country music. hip hop. classical.etc. etc. american idol...

until my late puberty I was a narrow-minded listener who just heard the songs from the top-40. Then my musical horizons started to enbroaden as I got a certain interest in art (certain interest which has become a huge passion now and one of the most important things in my life)

I am a fullblooded gothic/new-wave adept, or you could call me an adept of what they call "dark rock". I would say gothic mostly maybe, as I also more or less adapt to the lifestyle.
I also listen to indie/alternative rock, and now and then some folk and metal. I absolutely don't like pop music anymore, and I don't like R&B and hiphop (though no bad comments to the fans of these styles, we all like different things)

My favourite bands would be Placebo and Echo & The Bunnymen (pride of the Merseyside ! yes, i think they are better than the Beatles).
Other bands I listen to often are Manic Street Preachers, Marilyn Manson, Silke Bischoff (or 18 Summers as they are called nowadays), and French new-wave legends Indochine. My favourite solo performer would be Heather Nova.
Artists I like though less fanatic: Bauhaus, Blutengel, Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows.

For a goth/new-wave fan, it will probably not surprise you that I am quite wild about the eighties.

I like songs that spread a meaning or message, songs that bear a certain ideology or statement. I don't like meaningless songs, with a few exceptions of course. To me, lyrics outrule music in importance. The music should support the lyrics, not the other way around. A good lyric makes or breaks a song.

My favourite album would be either "Without you I'm nothing" (Placebo) or "Ocean rain" (Echo & The Bunnymen). I'm also very wild about the albums "Paradize" (Indochine), "Evergreen" (Echo & The Bunnymen), "Black market music" (Placebo), "Siren" (Heather Nova), "Forever delayed" (Manics).
