There are many great companies and some not so good. It helps to do some research for sure. What sort of budget are you on? What countries are you interested in visiting? Are you interested in a lodge safari or a camping safari? The experience and price varies quite a bit from one country to another. Since this site does have a strict rule prohibiting promoting specific companies (rightfully so, in my opinion) you will not get a post giving you any specific company. Sites that do allow mentioning specific companies often are filled with companies self promoting and the information cannot be trusted anyway. I personally like Tanzania (I am an American living in Tanzania running an NGO) and can help answer any questions that you have about safaris in Tanzania and can give you some information about Kenya as well. Please give more info and I am sure that many people on the forum here can help you have a memorable and amazing adventure.

Your post is likely to be allowed; what we have a rule against is posting for promotional purposes. I'd say you have been posting on the forum enough already by now that we can establish that this specific company isn't the reason for you posting here, and that your reply mentioning it was actually intended to be useful. Posting for the purposes of helping other people is something we're all in favour of :), and once we're convinced there's no promotional aspect, we pretty much allow any and all urls.

Hi there,

It will depend on what kind of budget you have as to who will be able to help you the best.

If you are looking for a luxury safari, fly in safari or mobile tented camp safari for example you will be looking at much different companies than if you are looking for a budget or backpacker safari.

Let us know what style of trip you are looking for or what budget range you have and we can narrow it down for you.

Cheers, Tania

You are not making this very easy! ;)

You could start with more mid range to luxury operators such as African Encounters or And Beyond (formerly CC Africa). Both of which I have traveled with great success. Local operators such as Predators Safaris (based in Tanzania) also offer a range of safaris to east africa highlights. These are usually quite short trips.

Or you could look at a accommodated overland tour with a company like Kumuka Worldwide, Acacia Africa, Nomad Tours or Wildlife Tours which run mid range to budget lodge trips which are often longer in duration.

Time factor could be the decision maker if location and budget are not a problem.

Good luck!
