Hi guys,

We are hoping someone will be able to help us out.... We are currently in the south and thinking of going to Annamalai wildlife sanctuary (in Tamil Nadu also known as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary). It is the biggest one in India but we are unsure of any (many) animal sightings at the current time and have also heard that the area is quite heavily industrialised so not sure if the park is just a tourist trap or if there is a real chance of seeing anything.

Any help is much appreciated!!!

Thanks
GavNess

Hi there,

I didn't go to this park but i did go to Periyar National Park in Kerala, it was horrendous don't go there!! No animals seen whatsoever, and the boat tour they used to do so you could see all the animals got shut down.

Good luck with Annamalai :)

1. Kabini
2. Bandipur

good amout of wildlife here...including the tiger...tho' south parks the tiger is very elusive, however, the other elusive cat...leopards are seen a lot in the above 2 parks
