Can anyone recommend a decent yet budget friendly hotel in Rome that is close to all tourist attractions? We will be there for 4 nights.

I'll send you a private message about where I stayed. Lovely boutique hotel which served breakfast in bed, remember getting a good deal for it too! 5min stroll away from the Vatican, Campo di Fiori, 10min to the Trevi fountain etc, you get the idea!

We stayed at Hostel des Artistes (hostelrome.com), which was very affordable, friendly, clean, and in a great area. Their website is a bit odd... but the place is great. It's just a couple blocks from the Termini which means great access via metro and bus to the entire city.
