Hi ,I am planning a trip to for 3 weeks to take in vietnam cambodia and the south Thailand beaches.Thinking of spending a week in each place. Can anyone recommend a starting point and a sample itinerary.I was thinking of arriving and leaving from bangkok and working around that.I dont mind having to take a few short flights.

I don't think 3 weeks is enough for 3 countries. 1 week in Thailand, 1 week Cambodia, 1 week in VN is just not practical. You are not allowing yourself enough time to do anything but jump on/off planes, buses, boats. I would pick 2 countries and drop one.

If you insist on all 3 countries, I would fly Air Asia: BKK-SGN. Spend your 7 days in HCMC, delta, perhaps bus up to DaLat for 2-3 days. Bus from HCMC to Phnom Penh. 2-3 days in PP, bus or boat up to Siem reap, 3 days Angkor Wat, overland from SR to BKK. Then fly Air Asia to Krabi and hit some of the beaches. Railay Beach is perfect. Day trip it or stay there. You can island hop from Krabi or Railay. Perhaps a ferry over to Phi Phi for 2 days. Fly KBV- BKK and home.

I agree with vegasmike. You don't have enough time to do all 3 countries. I would suggest Thailand and Cambodia (Siem Reap and Phnom Penh only though with the timeframe)
