Hi,
I'm arriving in Perth on the 28th Dec. and am travelling alone. Looking to meet up with some others to share my travels with as it's a bit nerve wracking to be going it alone!
Anyone keen to meet up?

TRAVELLING OZ DEC 2010 on my own
I'd like to add myself to this thread as an American (23 y/o, male) planning to land in Oz on a WHV in early/mid-January.
The WHV on Australian government's website is very easy (although mine's still processing, it's only been 24 hours) I'm glad I didn't pay somebody to do it for me.
However I am going to take advantage of some kind of "arrival package" I think, probably through Travellers Contact Point (anyone heard of them?) Seems like a good way to have some fun and meet people straight off, and having a fixed address/job searching service would be helpful.
My plan is to buy a camper and live in it, or a motorcycle (I'm an avid biker) and live in hostels/ect.
I would be very interested to meet up with any of you other travelers once I arrive and have located the pubs.
Hi all
I'm flying out solo on 12th Dec for 4 weeks and travelling alone, I'm 43 and probably more nervous about the travelling alone bit than you younger guys..!!
I land in Adelaide on 15th and after afew days go into Melbourne staying at Habitat HQ over Xmas, and going upto Sydney, The Rocks YHA for New Year...interested to hear from anyone staying here and if they've got a terrace ticket for New Year...anyone fancy a beer or 10 give me a shout
Happy travels
Steve
Hihi
I'm landing in Sydney on Jan. 1 and just booked at The Jackaroo in Kings Cross, which is apparently very new!! I'm soooo excited and nervous just like the rest of you, travelling alone and would love to have some company. Anyone else in the area that time and feel like chatting, I'd love to hear from you. I'm 25 year old female from Canada.

Hi Steve
I'm 31 and doing the solo travelling thing for the first time and also nervous about it, I get to Sydney on the 8th Dec. There seems to be quite a few people from here staying at the Rocks on New Year (I've also got a terrace ticket), so I'll be holding you to the 10 beers!

Hi RubyTash
I'll be about in Sydney that time, not sure if I'll be staying in Kings Cross then but I won't be a million miles away if I'm not. Give me a shout if you want to catch up!

Hi everyone
I am 29 from Newcastle, UK (same as OP) and going back to Australia for a short holiday in January. Will arrive in Sydney on 2 January.
If anyone has any questions then feel free to ask me as I did a year in Australia last year and spent 8 months living and working in Sydney.
if one want to go for a road trip in australia then what would be the required documents?

Hi Rachylou
Depending on how easy/difficult it is to find work in Sydney, I may stay there quite a while myself (I'm presuming you loved it - given you stayed there 8 months and are now going back)! Just wondered if you recommend signing up to job agencies or is it easy enough to find work?
Cheers

Hi Andy
Sorry for late post. I loved Sydney and found work easily because of my line of work (admin). I went with a temp agency and they got me loads of assignments and then it was word of mouth within the company. I joined about four agencies but didn't need them.
Found the temp agency and others with the SEEK website www.seek.com.au
Hi Everyone,
I am Holly and i'm 25, and in the same boat as you...I leave for my RTW trip in September alone!! scary!!
I will be hitting OZ around December time, not sure exactly what date yet, my flights are flexible so it depends how much I like SE Asia i guess...I think I want to be in Sydney for NYE and possibly Christmas day too.
Do you know where you are starting and might be around christmas? Maybe we could talk and meet at a hostel some place, spend Chrimbo together on the beach?!
Look forward to hearing from you
